Stained Genealogy Of Jesus Christ

Stained Genealogy Of Jesus Christ

The beginning of the New Testament lists the long genealogy of Jesus Christ. Contrary to the usual Jewish genealogy which emphasizes the paternal ancestors, the Gospel includes four women whose past records are not so saintly. This is because the Bible testifies that the birth of the children of God is not of blood, nor of the will of man, but of God’s Holy Spirit poured into the human flesh.

The Famine of the Words of God

The Famine of the Words of God

When Japan lost the war, people were desperate to survive. They were all on the brink of starvation. In such a time, there was a Christian who called out, “What Japan needs is not a physical bread, but a spiritual food.” His name is Ikuro Teshima. He recounts his encountering experience with Christ on Mt. Aso in a radio broadcast program. The living Christ endowed him with charismatic power to proclaim the original gospel faith.

The Foundation of America Makuya

The Foundation of America Makuya

In 1959 a special edition of the Light of Life was sent to Reverend James Takeji Manabe of Berkeley, CA. He was fully convinced that this is the true faith that would save not only Japan but also his fellow Japanese living in USA.
He distributed the magazine among his friends and started a meeting of the original gospel faith at his home. He was always saying that the essence of the original gospel is the clear-cut experience of the Holy Spirit.

What is Non-Church Type Faith?

無教会的信仰とは

At the foot of Mt. Aso, Teshima Ikuro encountered the living Christ and started his independent ministry at his own home.
He followed the example of Uchimura Kanzo, the founder of Non-Church Christianity, who said: “Non-Church is a church for those who do not have church buildings. The universe and the great nature constitute our church. Its ceiling is the blue sky, and its floor a green pasture. Its preacher is God Himself.”

Religion of the Bushido Spirit

Religion with the Bushido Spirit

The book Bushido: The Soul of Japan was written in English in 1900 by Nitobe Inazo. It introduces virtues valued by the Japanese to readers around the globe.
The essence of the Bushido is loyalty to the greater cause, even at the expense of one's life, leaving behind one's personal wishes and gains. Teshima states that this loyalty helps believers of the Bible take up their crosses and faithfully follow God's will.

An Encounter with a True Master

An Encounter with a True Master

“An encounter with a religious teacher is important to our faith,” says Reverend Seiji Kadowaki.
His face was gentle and aglow. Although his 75-year old stature was feeble and thin as a crane, he was burning with ardent passion. Mr. Kadowaki learned the charismatic faith from Prof. Teshima in Kumamoto. He testifies how his soul was converted and spiritually reborn, and tells about his ministry in Okinawa.

Ministry by the Holy Spirit

Ministry by the Holy Spirit

Mr. Kadowaki’s pioneer ministry in Sado Island started by digging a hole and buying two ceramic pots to make a toilet outside his house. Through his wholehearted dependence on God alone, people around him experienced conversion by the Holy Spirit one after another.
Mr. Kadowaki says, “Ministry doesn’t require a large building. Just a three-mat room is sufficient. Only be a vessel of the Holy Spirit and witness the power of living Christ!”

Breeding with Love and Prayer

Breeding with Love and Prayer

Luther Burbank, the famous botanist, bred the spineless cactus. Living and working in Santa Rosa, CA, he was called the “Wizard of Horticulture.”
Burbank succeeded in breeding spineless cacti and thornless roses. The secret of his success is his love and prayer for the plants; plants can sense the love of humans and stop defending themselves. Much more so for humans who can trust in the love of God.

At the Bethesda Pool

At the Bethesda Pool

At the Bethesda Pool, Jesus Christ healed a man who was sick for 38 years with a single word. Ms. Urata relived the accounts of the Bible when her body and soul were changed when she prayed at this place during a pilgrimage. This experience caused her to start living a life of love, though she had been heavily occupied with herself until then.

Campaign for Israel

Campaign for Israel

After the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, Japan and the world submitted to the Arab World’s oil embargo. In protest to the parliament’s decision and for the defense of Israel, Ikuro Teshima stood up, saying, “Israel is the homeland of our redeemer. Without Israel, we could have neither salvation nor redemption. Forsake not Israel!” On December 2 in the bitter winter cold, 3000 members of the Makuya assembled in downtown Tokyo and held a mass march to demonstrate the love for Zion.
