Be merciful to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; fighting all day he oppresses me.

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.”

“All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

“Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

The words “Dust thou art, to dust returnest” (Genesis 3:19) were not spoken of the soul. However, just as it is written, “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was” (Ecclesiastes 12:7), the soul lives to eternity.

For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

O Lord, You know; Remember me and visit me.
